Kitemark™ - serious about the safety of motorists

The Paint and Body Shop is celebrating being among the best in Britain as the Kitemark for car accident repair is announced to the consumer. Thursday 18th June 2009 will see the announcement to the of the Kitemark Vehicle Body Repair scheme to the motorist who can now look for and choose a Kitemark crash repairer that will deliver a safe, quality repair just by looking for the Kitemark symbol.

The Paint and Body Shop of Hull were awarded their Kitemark licence on [insert date] and have proudly been promoting their status ever since.

The accident repair Kitemark was created by the industry to address the increasing complexities of modern car manufacturer. Launched by Thatcham (insurer funded research organisation) and BSI two years ago to provided the crash repair industry recognisable and robust standards to work to, it has received support from across the industry and has been fundamental to raising standards in the crash repair industry.

Britain’s crash repair industry is the best in the world and intends to maintain its reputation. Cars are so much more sophisticated today as there are no less than ten different skills involved in a repair as well as numerous different and complex materials. The motorist may not always appreciate what is involved. For example, different materials need different adhesives or fixing techniques to ensure a safe, quality bond and the motorist may not appreciate this fact. By choosing a Kitemark crash repairer the motorist can be reassured that the repair has been done safely and that it offers the motorist the same amount of protection as it did before the accident is the primary intention of all Kitemark crash repairers.

The insurance companies support the Kitemark and their repair networks have, or are in the process, of becoming a Kitemark crash repairer. This is great news for the motorist as it means that they will gain the benefit of a Kitemark repair through their insurance policy.

“We are 100% behind the introduction of the Kitemark. As a crash repairer, it will enable us to assure our customers and the insurers we work with that the vehicles going through our bodyshop have been repaired using safe and demonstrable quality procedures.” [insert your name here]

This Kitemark scheme is being heavily promoted by Quentin Willson (BSI’s Kitemark champion) through national television and radio while certain individual bodyshops in the each area are ready to participate with local television or radio interests. “Having your car repaired by a Kitemark bodyshop could help save your life. The Kitemark is there to show the motorist that the highest standards of repair have been applied to your vehicle. It means that the actual repair has been done safely, using the right materials and by skilled technicians so that your car offers you the same protection as it did before your accident. Kitemark bodyshops are serious about the safety of motorists”, says Quentin Willson.

Over the coming months more and more bodyshops will receive their Kitemark licence so that the local motorist will continue to benefit from having their car cared for by Kitemark. To find your nearest Kitemark crash repairer visit www.kitemark.com.
